Thunder rolled. She hugged herself tighter. The rain was getting heavier. She breathed harder. There must be a way to stay dry, shivering, she risked a peep. Lightning struck close to her. Frightened, she withdrew. Cold and alone, she desperately wished for a dry place to rest.
Her trek had taken more days than intended and she was tired and hungry. The food were always beyond her reach. She had been shun and stared at. Nobody wanted her to go near them. Sadly, she would often walk away hoping the next place would offer her solace.
She had been about to eat when she was chased away. He was threatening to kill her if she dared to take a morsel. Scared, she ran away as fast as her weak legs could take her. The rain pelted down. In her desperation to stay dry, she hid in dark hole. A bad move. Wind was blowing towards the hole and she was getting wet.
The cold was getting to her bones. She cried. A shadow fell over her, looking up, she saw a lady with a huge umbrella. “Oh, you poor kitty! Come, let me take you home. I have a nice fire for you to warm yourself.” She was whisked away in a BMW. For the first time, the kitten felt love and warmth.
