Opalville, Opal City – A man was found in dead in streets by a group of teenagers. They were playing tag when Randy Kowal saw a leg sticking out from the bushes. When he called his friends over, they were shocked to see a dead body. Flies and maggots were already covering his body.

“I was so stunned and scared. I mean, how can a dead body just turn up like that! It has never happened before,” Randy said. His friends supported his claim. Another said, “I think he was wounded. I saw some dried blood on his clothes too.”

Residents have been shocked that someone can just die out in the streets. Mrs Witherby was visibly upset because there were so many hospitals around the area and a dead body just turned up in the streets. “I can’t believe that no one would help a dying man.”

Help end world hunger

Investigations have shown that the man was Whitely James, aged 45 and was a homeless. He had been scrapping food ever since he lost his job and the residents have been giving him food whenever he passed by. He was known as a gentle man who never asked for anything other than food from them. They have been happy with him passing by. Some have even let him in to wash up.

He would repay the kindness by trimming the lawns, weeding or looked after the pets while the owners were on vacations. One claimed that he had seen James being escorted out by the orderly at St Jules Hospital. A few residents have alleged that he had been limping as if he was in pain or wounded but none of the hospitals were willing to help a dying man.
